About

I’m Mavina and I run the Teacup Press from my studio in Oxfordshire.

I’m an artist printmaker and I started making books because I wanted to present ideas in one format that are too big to convey as a single print.

I love telling a story and feel excited and privileged that the books I make are shared and enjoyed by bookworms everywhere.

As an artist ideas are paramount, but I believe craftsmanship is an important element of printmaking too, and hand-printing allows me to make each piece individual. My hand-made books and prints are inspired by wildlife and the passing of the seasons that surrounds me here in the Oxfordshire countryside and also the tidal marsh-lands of the Essex coast on Mersea Island.

Work is held in a number of collections including the artists’ books collection of: Manchester Metropolitan University, the University of the Creative Arts and the Artists’ Book Collection at Bank Street Arts.
